We are extremely happy to be be part of the “Acciaio Espresso” project, a circular economy project in collaboration between the De’Longhi Group and Acciaierie Venete spa, supported by our research group. The partnership between De’Longhi Group and Acciaierie Venete spa is a great example of a successful buyer-supplier collaboration to effectively implement circular economy practices.
Together with Padana Rottami and CIA – Centro Italiano Acciai, subsidiaries of the Acciaierie Venete Group, an agreement has been signed to manage the processing waste from De’Longhi grinders in a circular manner, which is collected, reprocessed, and reintroduced directly into the production cycle. This process, in line with the objectives of the Group’s sustainability plan, has also enabled Acciaierie Venete to obtain REMADE® A+ certification, the first of its kind in the steel industry.
The two organizations established a mutually dependent relationship which is characterised by trust, joint action and fine-grained information exchange and Acciaio Espresso is a concrete example of how shared values can generate responsible innovation, improve environmental impact, and strengthen ties with the local community.
The project, is part of a longitudinal caste study published in the International Journal of Operations & Production Management.
