Marco Formentini, associate professor at the Department of Engineering and Information Science, is the winner of the ‘Gianluca Spina Award for Teaching Excellence and Innovation 2022‘ for the project ‘Bringing Artificial Intelligence, Open Innovation and Operations Management together‘ as part of the AI & Innovation course of the master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence Systems and the Industrial AI Challenge 2022.
The award for excellence and innovation in didactics is promoted by the Italian Association of Management Engineering (AiIG) and the Gianluca Spina Association in memory of Gianluca Spina, professor at the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano; it is aimed at didactic initiatives that show traits of excellence and innovation, capable of grasping emerging trends in society, in young people, in learning processes, often a consequence of the pervasiveness of technologies, in all life and educational contexts.
This year’s edition involved 11 projects, 24 teachers and 13 university locations.
Prof. Formentini received the award on 20 October during the plenary session of the Scientific Disciplinary Meeting in Rome.
