The trasition towards Circular Economy

The implementation of the circular economy at the supply chain level requires companies to access external resources and capabilities, leading to disruptive changes due to the creation of a reverse flow of value, materials, and information.
While researchers agree on the importance of supply chain collaboration for circular economy initiatives, studies exploring the impact of such collaboration on the dynamics between supply chain actors remain limited.

Through a longitudinal case study, we analyze the implementation of a circular economy project undertaken by an Italian manufacturing company, focusing on how circular economy adoption affects power and dependency dynamics between the focal firm and its suppliers across two material flows.

The study, titled “Investigating Power and Dependence Dynamics in Circular Supply Chains,” was presented at the Academy of Management 2024 conference held in Chicago.
